History Marine transportation

#Discoveryofamerica
History reveals that about 500 years before the Italian Christopher Columbus was born a European group of sailors led by Leif Eriksson, Norse Explorer, sailed in their high powered single sail Viking ship through the Atlantic Ocean In search of a new world. The wind carried the ship through unfamiliar waters . After traversing some nautical miles the Norsemen found a new land , dropped anchor and went ashore , the North American soil

Marine Engine pistons

PISTON RINGS BREAKAGE
1. Detonation is another big cause of failure of piston rings . Detonation produces high gas loads and localized high temperatures leading to broken rings. The sudden increase in pressure can really hammer the pistons and rings causing them to break.
2. If the old piston is reused with new rings sometime the new rings will break dispute the axial and radial clearances are within limits because of the liner bore exceeding the allowable taper limit .
3. Damaged cooling fan
4. Blocked diesel injectors . Leaking or clogged fuel injectors when struggle to release fuel the engine will try to overcompensate causing overheating in the engine.
5. Breakage to cylinder liners. Cylinder liners may crack because of poor cooling, improper fit of pistons, incorrect installation. May be due to hot spots causing thermal stress.
6. The above are possibilities.

Marine Insurance claims/Risks consultancy

KNOW YOUR INSURANCE RISK COVERED .

Cargo Insurance policies differ based on the risks to be covered and the nature of cargo.Insurers compete and amend the scope of cover . Recently we were approached by a shipper from India to seek our advice to proceed legally against an Insurance company in the case of a cargo damage claim which was rejected by the insurer.
The shipper had shipped a cargo of Green Chilies to a consignee in Dubai. The cargo was shipped in a refrigerated container .Upon arrival of the cargo in the container at the consignee's cold store in Dubai the same was opened and the cargo noted to be decayed .A survey was arranged by the shipper's Insurance Company in order to ascertain the nature, cause and extent of damage suffered by the cargo. The cause of damage was noted to be due to failure on the part of the carriers to maintain the shipper recommended   temperature in the container . Survey report was submitted to the shipper's Insurance company and claim was lodged for the loss suffered by the shipper .The Insurance Company rejected the claim stating that the claim was falling under exclusion clause of the insurance policy.
We were made available the original Insurance policy for review. We closely examined the policy terms ,conditions and item of interest insured and noted that the insured item mentioned in the policy was " General Cargo" where it should have been mentioned "Perishable cargo in refrigerated container with reefer container clause incorporated. As per the policy terms the General Cargo damage due to temperature problem was mentioned under exclusion clause of the policy.
This was due to failure on the part of Shipper to examine the policy to ascertain whether the intended risk and item of interest mentioned in the insurance cover   was as per his requirement.

CULTURE OF POLICE FORCE

Culture is Quality of a person which depends how he was brought up in his family, in his community and in his country. His parents and family are the one who molds him first. His attitude, character , conducts, courage inherent in him are result of how his parents developed the same in him. In the case of refined souls there are exceptions, they are born with all good qualities like in the case of Prahlada son of Hiranyakasapu, Vibhishana brother of Ravana.
Society in which one lives has greater role to make one good or bad. Governments can’t escape from their responsibility. Many countries like in UAE &USA the Police force is highly efficient at the same time well cultured in dealing with people and to enforce law and order. In some countries behavior of police is very bad and are ill cultured. One doctor of Amrita in Kochi told me that his car broke down in the traffic and he was abused by a police constable on duty using vulgar words.

In USA and UAE police arrive on the spot and would help the person to move the car to side . Call recovery and send the car to garage. They also would pick the passengers of the car to a safe place or taxi or bus stand or even to their home .
Why this culture difference ? Is it how police force are “cultured” in countries like ours? . In many criminal cases evidences are not looked for but created . Even our courts look for evidences “only “ do not examine the source of the evidences.
Money is the key element if one wants to get things done from government offices.
Criminals are ruling the political world. Buffoons are occupying ministerial chairs.
Political world has been almost turned into underworld . Dacoity and murders initiated by the political world is seen everyday.
During elections people are addressed as kings and after that as donkeys !

ATROCITIES OF COMMUNISM

The word communism said to have been emerged from French “communisme”and English “ common” sometime in the mid 19th century.

Modern form of communism was based on Marxism, an ideology of Karl Marx. Marxist theory was aimed to bring social revolution through peaceful transition or force of arms .
The places fertile for this were mainly

Industrial and underdeveloped countries. Many of the countries in the world embraced this ideology.

In course of time many changes in the ideology were made by the people in power to suit their style and context.
With the dissolution Of Soviet Union in 1991 a large number of communist countries altogether rejected the communist ideology. Only Cuba, Vietnam and Laos remained as communist by 21st century. In China Marxism and Maoism came to end by embracing a mixed economy type .

Reportedly during the period between 1917 to 2017 (Bolshevik revolution) so called self styled communist governments had claimed about 68 millions life through starvation, extrajudicial killings , forced labor camps.
Communist Party of India ( Marxist) emerged in1964 from the split from CPI . It is reported by Indian media that the party may loose national party status in aftermath of parties poor show in the West Bengal election. In India there are communists who believe in different ideologies like Marxism, Maoism , Naxalism & socialism.
However the next election going to be a challenge for all especially to CPI(M) in Kerala in the aftermath of governments poor support to the flood affected commun

ity and present Sabarimala issues..

MARINE TRANSPORT DEVLOPMENT

Traveling and transporting activities began from the time living beings came on this earth. Since then the animals, human beings , birds And termites moved from one place to another place in search of food and shelter. During moving from place to place human being carried their babies in their hands . Some animals carried their babies on their back. Babies of monkeys clung to their mothers belly. Human beings and animals walked on foot . The birds flew using their wings . They crossed rivers by swimming. This was the early mode of traveling and transportation. Mode of transportation developed over a period of time. Sailing was the mode of water transportation first used by human beings . Floating materials by lashing timber logs and bamboos used as means of water transport. This is the beginning of marine transportation. After wheels were invented land transportation on wheels commenced using carts pulled by animals like bullocks and horses
